How A Mozambican Orphan Became His Clan's Last Ninja.

Background

最後の忍者 (Saigo No Ninja) Japanese for "The Last Ninja" is a comic book created by Ade Olumofin. It details the trials of Malakai - an African boy turned Ninja from Mozambique who is adopted into the Minashigo clan of Ninjas after his parents are murdered on the streets of Tokyo, Japan by an unknown assailant.

With no one to turn to, and, no known relatives in Mozambique to take him into their custody, he is forced into an orphanage. He is later rescued by the head of the Minashigo clan (Master Ryu-Ku) who is recruiting young boys to train for his ruthless clan of Ninjas-for-hire - The Minashigo Clan of Ninjas.

Malakai, initially is happy to be rescued from the orphanage where he was withering away with no purpose. He is molded by his new master and adopted father - Master Ryu-ku into one of the most ruthless fighting machines the criminal underworld has ever seen, but he soon starts to long for a normal life. Jaded by the endless assassinations he has to carry out for his master and longing to know who killed his parents, he decides to escape the clan and dips out on a mission he was supposed to carry out for his master. His action has consequences that will send ripples through Japan's criminal underworld. Malakai knows that the only way out of the Minashigo is death. He decides to run away regardless and set out to find who killed his parents so he can have closure and pursue a normal life.

Find out what happens to Malakai as he tries to evade the several forces opposed to his choice for a normal existence - his once beloved family - The Minashigo, the son of the Yakuza boss whose father loses his life as a result of Malakai's refusal to assassinate a rival Yakuza boss and his family, the other forces beyond Malakai's knowledge out to destroy him. The story in this comic book will ultimately span two continents and will be released in six different issues to finally compose of two volumes.
